Location: Padstow
Hours: Full-time | 6:00am – 3:00pm (Day Shift)
Reports to: Production Supervisor

Galvatech is a family owned and operated business providing hot dip galvanising to the steel industry for the last 50 years. Galvatech is known for its efficiency and reliability, our factory is centrally located in Padstow, Southwest Sydney, NSW (close to M5 motorway).
About the Opportunity
Galvatech is seeking a hands-on and motivated Production Lead to support the daily operations of our galvanising facility. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient preparation, handling, storage, and processing of customer goods through our production line.
Working closely with our Production Supervisor, you will lead a small team in coordinating materials, equipment, and process flow to meet daily operational targets. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a mechanical mindset and leadership potential to step into a key role within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily processing of raw steel materials from receiving and storage through to galvanising preparation.
- Lead and supervise process personnel to ensure production goals are met efficiently and safely.
- Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and fellow Production Leads to maintain seamless workflow across shifts.
- Collaborate with leadership on production schedules, process improvements, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot machinery and coordinate maintenance support as required.
- Maintain accurate production records in accordance with ISO and internal quality standards.
- Support a safe work environment by ensuring WHS compliance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Production Lead or supervisory role in a manufacturing or steel processing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a shift-based process environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across multiple levels of the organisation.
- A mechanical aptitude and confidence in resolving minor machinery issues.
- High attention to detail, with strong organisational and safety awareness.
- Commitment to full-time hours and the ability to work consistently Monday to Friday.
- Full working rights in Australia.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Forklift Licence (LF)
- High Risk Work Licence
- Experience with gantry cranes, confined space entry, or Elevated Work Platforms (EWP)
- First Aid Certification

- Design and delivery of 6-week hands-on pre-employment programs
- Coordination with employers, RTOs, social services and industry bodies
- Mentorship and support for women from diverse backgrounds (including First Nations women, migrants, and career changers)
- Workplace education with employers through social frameworks
- Data collection, milestone reporting, and continuous improvement aligned to federal funding requirements
